THE HIPPIE MORNING SHOW WITH DOC
6A-11AM

Doc misunderstood Timothy Leary’s advice to “Turn on, tune in, drop out” and dropped out of journalism school after matriculating for the better part of five years, but he didn’t turn on to radio right away. Instead, he toiled as a blue collar guy for a few years.
Doc tuned in to radio in the late 80’s, taking a pay cut of over 20K annually. He excelled at U-Haul packing, living in 7 cities in his first 7 years on air, trying to make end’s meet and acquiring a taste for Michelina’s frozen entrees.
Doc’s done radio time in Michigan metropolises like Big Rapids, Cadillac and Houghton Lake, and has been been heard in Grand Rapids, Detroit and Toledo.
The Morning Mix TV/Radio simulcast show brought Doc to Peoria in ’96. He got new-ownership right-sized in ‘03.
Some time off air confirmed Doc’s suspicions that the broadcasting square peg didn’t fit into the round hole of the working world. The Hippie 101.1 play list was pretty much his childhood soundtrack, growing up as the youngest of six at the tail end of the baby boom.
